WHAT WE PROPOSE

age 09-24
school exchanges, work-based experiences and other tailored intercultural programs

WE DESIGN THE PROGRAM YOU NEED ACCORDING TO YOUR PROJECT ON TOPICS IN LINE WITH THE EUROPEAN POLICIES

Students mobility is nowadays considered the most important part of Erasmus accreditation and short term K1 projects.

The National Agencies in all Europe are recommending schools to foster mobility to open students’ minds,  boost their life skills and empower the practical competencies they learned during the months in the places where they are used to living and learning. Traveling to Calabria is an experience and an interesting adventure because JUMP offers unique didactic and intercultural programs.

We propose different kinds of activities:

  • School to school (to be agreed with local school partners depending on the level, on the topic and on the period of the year that is needed);
  • Work-based learning programs where students experience the real life approaching a kind of job that can be any kinds depending on the learning needs and the agreements between us and local economic realities;
  • Structured intercultural programs where teachers and students learn on a specific or transversal topics and we create training sessions, indoor and outdoors, in combination with visits to local schools, partners or economic realities and meeting other teachers and students of different countries present at the same time.

We titled this mobility experience LET’S MAKE INCLUSION at school. Non-Formal Education is the answer” creating a tailored made program for the kids aged between 9 and 14 years old. During a week’s time we visited local schools where creative local  teachers organized very nice activities with the international friends. JUMP furthermore involved the kids in outdoor sessions on global issues and in a workshop to foster literacy (reading and writing skills) and videomaking with the creation of Book Trailers.

We titled this mobility experience “TEACHING EUROPE: fostering awareness for a new green mindset in European eco-schoolers” and the students were 14 years old boys and girls who just finished the school activities and were willing to live outdoor moments and activities in contacts not just with their peers but also with other international teachers. In May in the same week we had a very big group of teachers from different countries. During 1 week’s time the Slovenian students were involved in walking tours to discover our places, the culture and the precious arts belonging to our cultural heritage and breath fresh air. The central days were in a local school where our teachers of English organized activities with other students and they also visited in autonomy the Capital of the region, the city of Catanzaro taking a bus in the afternoon. These students with an age in the full adolescence learned important life skills, such as autonomy, self organization and time management. Teachers were with them supporting the JUMP team in their learning process like mentors and coaches.

The program for 10 lovely Hungarian students, all 18 years old girls, was designed by JUMP for the development of a STREAM Approach to learning. STREAM stands for Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. A multi-sectorial transversal methodology crossing different learning experiences. The students worked with professionals in all these fields but they also enjoyed the outdoors and were involved in activities to get to know the local culture, the traditions and the citizens. Students also participated to a workshop with engineers who are planning a big project for the area for the creation of an implant of off-shore wind mills in the sea. Furthermore, they were trained on entrepreneurship through a European project titled “M.O.T.H.E.R.” and learned about another EU project titled “EU-READ&ART” on literacy/reading and creation of book trailers. This experience with the Hungarian students was simply great and we have them in our heart. After the mobility we realized a follow up meeting and one of them continued along the summer developing a TRAINEESHIP with JUMP.

HERE THE VIDEO WE REALIZED DEDICATED TO THEM

Below the picture of the follow up online meeting. Students also worked on one of our e-learning platform exploring the training modules developing topics connected with “building an entrepreneurial mindset”. One of them experienced a traineeship online during the whole summer 2024 (2months) working on a Erasmus project on reading and creating book trailers.
