Giulia Lang was born in 1994 in Rome, Italy. After earning a degree in Sociology from “Sapienza” University of Rome, she pursued a master’s degree in Applied Social Sciences at the same institution. Her thesis focused on the depopulation of Italy’s inner areas.
Thanks to the Erasmus Program, she was able to live in Valencia for 6 months during her Master’s degree. In 2020, she was awarded a special mention for the quality of the work done in her thesis by the Associazione Comuni Virtuosi, as part of the “Dario Ciapetti” Scholarship.
She is currently a PhD student in sociology and applied social research at Doctoral School in Social and Sciences and Economics at “Sapienza”. She focuses on analyzing development policies for small villages in Italian’s inner areas, with a particular interest in the connection between migration and the potential revival of these regions.
She has a passion for cinema as well. Starting in 2022, she writes for the web magazine Cinematographe.it, where she reviews movies and covers international Film Festivals.
