AI for Media and Digital Literacy in Adult Education (AIM-IN-ADU)

Small-scale partnerships in adult education (KA210-ADU)

about the Project

The project addresses a clearly identified gap in adult education in Slovakia, Italy and Romania, particularly in small towns and less developed regions where adults with lower educational attainment (ISCED 0–3), older learners (30–65+), migrants and socially disadvantaged groups show limited digital competences and low resilience to misinformation.

In line with Erasmus+ priorities on digital transformation, upskilling and inclusion, the project sets three measurable objectives.

Objective 1 – ENHANCE DIGITAL READINESS AND MEDIA LITERACY OF ADULT EDUCATORS AND LEARNERS
Within 18 months, at least 15 adult educators (minimum five per country) and 150 adult learners (minimum 50 per country, at least 40% with fewer opportunities) will demonstrate measurable improvement in digital readiness and media literacy.
Progress will be assessed through pre- and post-tests aligned with DigComp, practical tasks (fact-checking, responsible AI use scenarios) and self-evaluation tools. This supports the priority of addressing digital transformation by strengthening digital capacity, critical thinking and resilience to misinformation across three European contexts.

Objective 2 – FOSTER THE UPSKILLING AND RESKILLING OF ADULTS THROUGH ACCESSIBLE AI-BASED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES
Within 12 months, the partnership will co-create, pilot and launch a multilingual AI and media literacy curriculum (EN/SK/IT/RO) of at least 20 learning hours. The programme will target adults with low or outdated digital competences, including low-skilled and unemployed adults. It will include practical AI applications, digital safety modules, misinformation detection tools and a trainer manual. After piloting and refinement, at least 150 adults will complete the course, with a target
completion rate of 75% and measurable competence improvement. This contributes directly to the priority of fostering adult upskilling and reskilling by strengthening employability and adaptability in a digital society.

Objective 3 – FOSTER INCLUSION, COLLABORATION AND COMMUNITY AWARENESS ON AI AND MEDIA LITERACY
At least 300 participants (learners, educators and stakeholders) will engage in inclusive activities such as Open AI Days and peer-learning sessions. Recruitment will prioritise disadvantaged adults and reduce entry barriers through orientation and digital onboarding support. This links to the priority of inclusion and diversity by ensuring equal access to digital education and promoting intercultural cooperation between three EU regions.
Tangible results include a multilingual open-access curriculum, digital readiness assessment toolkit, digital safety guide,
trainer handbook and online platform. Intangible results include improved digital competence, stronger critical thinking, safer AI use and empowered educators.
