STEM/STEAM/STREAM Training with one  Finnish Primary School Teacher

During the week 13-20 april 2025 I held a three-day training session focusing on the STREAM discipline. The session was held from Tuesday to Thursday morning and was attended by one participant from a primary school in Finland.

The main aims of the session were to introduce and explore the STREAM approach in education, and share methodologies and tools for integrating STREAM into the school curriculum. Furthermore, fostering creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and communication.

The session was intended to be interactive and reflective, but at the same time, it allowed in-depth discussion and hands-on activities. On Tuesday morning. I focused on introducing the STREAM concept and explained how the 21st-century skills are exploited in this area of discipline. On Wednesday morning, we discussed how Art and Reading can enhance traditional STEM projects. Finally, we concluded the session by concentrating on developing effective STREAM lesson plans.

The participant declared that she had gained a clearer understanding of the STREAM framework and how to apply it. Moreover, the participant created a collaborative lesson plan suited to her Finnish students. The participant also explained how the session had facilitated the idea of pedagogical ideas and teaching strategies, which would have been useful for her and her students, and expressed satisfaction with the session, hence highlighting cultural exchange and a hands-on format.

In conclusion, the session successfully provided aimed professional development for the participant and accentuated the benefits of collaboration in International education. The experience furthermore contributed to fostering innovative and holistic approaches in Primary Education.
