From April 8th to 10th 2025, I had the pleasure of participating as a tutor in a training activity organized by the JUMP Association, aimed at four teachers from Finland. It was an enriching and stimulating experience, both technically and personally: right from the start, a great atmosphere of collaboration and cultural exchange was established.
During the first day, after some ice-breaking activities to get to know each other, I introduced the participants to block-based programming using Scratch. We completed some initial exercises, which helped them understand programming logic in a simple and intuitive way.
On the morning of April 9th, we continued working with Scratch and, later in the morning, we transitioned to the Dobot Studio Pro environment, where we began programming and operating the MG400 robot using block-based commands. I introduced key robotics concepts such as kinematics, dynamics, and mechanics, and guided the participants through hands-on exercises.
In the afternoon, we visited the robotics lab at TOD SYSTEM, a company specializing in collaborative robotics. There, we explored advanced applications in the field, including kinematics, dynamics, sensor systems, computer vision, additive manufacturing, and computational simulation.
Finally, on the morning of April 10th, we carried out further practical exercises with the MG400 robot, focusing mainly on pick and place operations. To conclude the experience, I introduced the LUA programming language and gave a brief overview of integrated vision systems.
This experience allowed me to apply my technical and teaching skills in an international context, highlighting how robotics can be a powerful educational tool and a valuable opportunity for cross-cultural collaboration.
