Live A Unique Experience with JUMP: from the Mission Impossible to the discovery of the Calabrian Cultural Heritage

Weekly we host several groups of teachers and educators from different countries in Europe and we thought the best way to include them in what are our traditions is with a Monday morning game where the goal is to get them to interact with local people by introducing them to the cultures, typical dishes and important monuments that distinguish the city of Soverato.

The game called MISSION IMPOSSIBLE was created to give our guests a chance to begin to understand how to get around the city, but more important to get them to go and discover which our important traditions are. We call it MISSION IMPOSSIBLE because it may not be so easy to ask local people about historical and culinary aspects, but the feedback from our guests is always so positive because only by immersing themselves in what the local reality is, can they begin to understand what our strengths are and why we are considered a place to live and love. Our goal is to start the week by making our guests feel comfortable with our area.

Once the morning activity among the streets of Soverato is over, we continue in the afternoon with a classroom session dedicated to the history, language, culture and food in Calabria. A unique and innovative experience designed for international guests, teachers and enthusiasts interested in exploring the richness of our territory. An experience in which they are involved and passionate about the fact that they can take an in-depth look at our origins. From the origin of the name to the typical dish, to the symbol of the city, to our roots… leaving, at the end of the session, space for them to let us explore their hometowns with a summary of what their cultures and customs are.

This is an aspect that should not be underestimated because Erasmus is also interaction, knowledge and the right approach to open our minds to the fact that ours is a country to be experienced and loved for what it offers us and for the vastness of the immense landscapes that surround us, despite being one of the least known and unexplored regions, it exudes a wild charm that invites exploration and discovery.

Erasmus is inclusion and for us INCLUSION is also this, a session that turns into a moment of dialogue in which we allow our guests freedom to express their views on our history, which is always well appreciated and listened to pleasantly until the end.

Participants immerse themselves in the local culture, describing it as a UNIQUE experience.
