On the morning of March 25, 2026, the local partner JUMP organized the first focus group within the Erasmus Project DigiYouth, developed by the organization since November 2025. The event, hosted by the Istituto Maria Ausiliatrice Soverato, involved the IV class of the Lyceum of Human Sciences and Languages, together with students and teachers from Greece, Poland, and Estonia.
The activity aimed to gather young people’s opinions on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in their daily lives and studies, exploring both personal and educational use. Participants were interviewed with 15 questions divided into six sections, providing valuable insights and demonstrating awareness of AI’s benefits and risks.

Among the most cited tools, CHAT GPT emerged as the most widely used and recognized. Students showed awareness of ethical implications, yet highlighted the evident AI literacy gap, underlining the urgent need for inclusive and targeted training programs.
A key moment of the focus group was the contribution of the Estonian teacher, who, as a counselor in a school in Tallinn, shared how AI is used in schools in her country, offering concrete examples of educational practices and digital tools to support students.

The focus group also highlighted AI’s role in helping those who feel isolated or excluded to integrate into the digital society, promoting inclusion and participation. The international exchange enriched the discussion, revealing cultural differences as well as common interests in responsible and creative use of technology.

This first experience confirmed that young people are not mere users of AI, but true protagonists in building an ethical and inclusive digital future. The Istituto Maria Ausiliatrice and JUMP have thus paved the way for further initiatives aimed at digital education, social inclusion, and intercultural dialogue.
