Euro.Soul Festival 2026: 180 book trailers from across Europe and a spectacular evening on 8 May at the Municipal Theater in Soverato

The run-up to the 10th edition of the Euro.Soul Festival (4–9 May 2026) continues with one of the most awaited events: the evening dedicated to the international ‘Let’s Book Trailers’ competition, scheduled for Thursday 8 May at 9.00 pm at the Teatro Comunale in Soverato.

The competition has attracted 180 book trailers created by schools and organisations from Estonia, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal and Poland, divided into three categories: 12–14 years, 15–20 years and over 20. This result confirms the strength of a project capable of combining reading, creativity and digital skills.

The videos will be evaluated by an international jury comprising: Laura Castro Iglesia (Madrid, Spain), Professor of Spanish Language and Literature; Nick Büscher (Bad Nenndorf, Germany), Professor of Philosophy and German Literature; Karine Van Beek (Soverato, Italy – originally from Belgium), Professor of German Language; Guerino Nisticò, tourism operator – Badolato Slow Village.
The jury is chaired by Prof. Daniela Marcheschi, an Italian literary critic and guest of Euro.Soul Festival, who during the Festival will also be the protagonist of a book presentation and a keynote lecture entitled “Humour and Values in the Works of Collodi”, in collaboration with the local schools involved: I.I.S. “Guarasci-Calabretta”, Istituto Comprensivo “Soverato 1” and Istituto FMA.

As in previous editions, “Let’s Book Trailers” is not just a competition, but a genuine educational journey: participants have had the opportunity to read a new book and transform it into a visual narrative, strengthening their digital and storytelling skills and experimenting – under guidance – with a creative and informed use of artificial intelligence. During the evening, prizes will be awarded for the best works in each category and to the overall winner, who will once again be presented with their award by Gianvito Casadonte, founder and director of the Magna Graecia Film Festival.

Adding further significance to the event will be a theatre performance by the Soverato-based company ‘I Sognattori’, which will help bring the central theme of the 2026 Festival – the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (Nice, 2000) – to life and make it accessible to all.

In the coming days, the final programme for the Euro.Soul Festival 2026 and full details of the public events and school activities will be available via JUMP’s official channels.
