In the week 21-27/04/2024 we realized a great session combining the ECO-SCHOOL course and the OUTDOOR EDUCATION course with participants from different countries.
The program was structed by our trainer Ms Ashley Renè Miller developing the JUMP method which foresees the most of the time outdoors and the use of different tools inspired by official documents of the EU and of the United Nations.
Here below what the trainer explains after the session. Ms Miller is also an expert in mindfulness and yoga trainer for many years.
This week, JUMP’s Trainer, Ashley Renée, had the pleasure of teaching international teachers from Romania, France, & Finland. She taught a combined course of ECO-Schools & Outdoor Education. On Tuesday morning the group was introduced to ECO-Schools theory to receive a specific understanding & awareness about ECO-SCHOOL practices & methodologies. The afternoon was spent outdoors doing a walking tour in Soverato Superiore where they talked & learned about the history of Soverato.
On Wednesday morning the group began by having a mindful walk from the villa down to the beach where they engaged in mindful activities to start their day. These included journaling & mindful meditation. Then the group moved to Angels park where they played GoGols and learned more about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are based in the UN. They learned how to plan educational activities that include ECO-SCHOOL principles.

The group spent Wednesday afternoon in the pine tree forest where they built meaningful dreamcatchers that represented them as teachers. This activity widened their ability to engage students with an interactive activity that fosters cooperation & active learning.
On Thursday morning the group began the morning in meditation & a mindfulness activity to reflect on their experience so far. Then they built kites representing their goals & we let their goals soar high into the sky!
We finished up the week by creating mandalas on the beach, which represented elements in nature that utilized their 5 senses. They learned how to plan educational activities that include ECO-School & Outdoor Education principles.
