During their first week in Soverato (Calabria), four French students began a month-long internship with JUMP and the local artists’ studio “FERMENTIS,” immersing themselves in creativity, culture, and community. Through their words, Annabelle, Camille, Clara, and Tessy share the discoveries, emotions and connections that have already made this adventure unforgettable.
“I really enjoyed this week with Jump. Even though I am shy, I received a very warm welcome that immediately reassured me. The activities we did were fun and varied, which made the days very pleasant. We also visited Luna and Antonio’s workshop, where the atmosphere was very warm. They are incredibly kind. We were able to create bracelets and make mosaics, which was a great experience for me. I would also like to thank all the people who take care of us every day, as well as the lady who looks after our rooms and the dishes. I am very happy to live this experience and I’m excited to see what comes next.”

“I truly appreciated the warm welcome we received. The visits at the beginning of the week were lovely, especially with the sunshine. We met Luna and Antonio; they are incredibly kind and offered us a variety of activities (jewelry making, mosaics, photo sets). Life at the villa is pleasant, the breakfast is enjoyable and delicious, and the housekeeper takes good care of our belongings.”
Camille Delaude
“We visited the center of Soverato, enjoyed the charming little shops, strolled along the seafront, and most importantly, the Jump staff introduced us to their culture and traditions. We had a wonderful time with them. We also went to Soverato Superiore to see the church and the magnificent Pietà by Antonello Gagini, it was truly impressive. And we discovered the workshop for our 4-week internship. Luna and Antonio are so kind and welcoming. We’ve already made bracelets, done mosaics, and started restoring statues, I’m already loving it! Honestly, everything is perfect here. A huge thank you to the Jump team for their warm welcome and for sharing their knowledge.”

“I greatly enjoyed this first week. The welcome at Villa Gabriella was particularly warm. The breakfast is excellent, and I sincerely thank the lady responsible for taking care of our dishes and our rooms. The Jump staff offered us several excursions during the first few days, which my classmates and I took part in. I especially appreciated the visits to the churches, during which we compared Antonello Gagini’s Pietà with Michelangelo’s.I also greatly enjoyed the guided tour provided by Juicy. As I tend to be rather reserved, integrating with others can be challenging for me.Nevertheless, the internship has been very pleasant: Luna and Antonio made us feel comfortable and integrated us perfectly into their workshop. They introduced us to various activities, and I particularly enjoyed working on mosaics. We are doing our best to adapt to Italian life.”
